Thanks for the heads up on preventing identity theft. I also found http://lawyeradvicenet.com/general/the-types-of-shredding-machines-and-their-uses#comment-135 has good information to. I would also comment that receiving your bills and bank statements electronically helps reduce the chance of identity theft too.

Hi,

As part of our research I read your article with interest.

in addition to all of the sources to fraud enabling material, all intranet and internet portals are subject to attack and abuse.
The same network resources, once compromised can be abused for purposes other than those they were intended for by individuals, organizations or factions intent on disruption, crime or intelligence gathering.

Intellectual property is at grave danger of being accessed by third parties who have no rights to it. No System administrator anywhere has a 100% assurance that their network has not been infiltrated.

Highly secure usernames and passwords can be issued to staff and other users alike, but they are often compromised through individuals not being able to remember them and start being kept in log books, diaries or other insecure places.

In essence PicturePin-XP does away with having to remember complicated user names and passwords for internet and intranet based accounts, in favour of a secure "Picture Password".

PicturePin-XP empowers Network System Administrators to
maximize the resilience of the Organisations network from
unauthorised access by providing all of their users with PicturePIN-XP, a secure tool to manage the issued access codes.

No more Usernames and passwords to remember.

If you feel your passpicture has been compromised, simply change it !

Check out the free trial at

www.picturepin.co.uk

Thanks

Along with shredding I also think that investing in identity theft protection is vital. My family and I chose SOLUS because of their restoration services. Along with the credit monitoring, expense reimbursement coverage and legal/emotional care services, their comprehensive restoration doesnt just assist you in restoring your good name, but they actually do everything on your behalf. I am a very busy professional with 4 kids, and the last thing I need to worry is protecting my identity and in the event I do become a victim, what to do. I have learned a tons from SOLUS website as well. Check it out for yourself...they also have tons of shredding advice! www.solusid.com
